Tourist Places in Erode: Erode district is the 3rd largest district in Tamil Nadu based on area  formed on 31st August 1979.  The district has 5722 Sq.Km. Population density is around 394km2 and there are approximately 22.51 Lakh People resides in the district. Erode is an landlocked district surrounded by chamrajnagar district (Karnataka) in North, Salem and Namakkal districts in the East, Tirupur district in south, Coimbatore and Nilgris in the west, Karur in south east district. Erode district forms the meeting point of the Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats mountain ranges, separated by the Moyar River. Erode District comprises a long undulating plain, sloping gently towards the Kaveri River in the south-east. The three major tributaries of the Kaveri, the Bhavani, Noyyal and Amaravati, run across the long stretch of mountains in the north.

River cauvery enter into erode district near chinnapallam from salem district. It forms the boundary between Bhavani taluk of Erode District and Tiruchengode taluk of the neighbouring Namakkal District. The Bhavani River joins the Cauvery River at the town of Bhavani.

The district is divided in to two revenue divisions namely Erode and Gobi. The district is furthetr divided into 10 taluks namely Erode, Perundurai, Modakkurichi, Kodumudi, Gobichettipalayam, Sathyamangalam, Bhavani, Anthiyur, Thalavadi, and Nambiyur. Erode districts has 35 Revenue blocks and 275 Revenue villages.
